With the aim of discovering the educational proposal in the peri-urban agricultural field, on March 20th, around thirty organizations from the Barcelona Pedagogical Innovation Council visited the Can Calopa Classroom of L’Olivera.

The educational project is structured around activities related to farming, the biodiversity of Collserola, and cooperativism, as well as training initiatives, green employment, and labor inclusion for people at risk of social exclusion. In this context, the director of Can Calopa, Lluc Pejó, emphasized that “It is essential to bring children and young people from Barcelona closer to the rural heritage and the current agricultural reality of the metropolitan area, so that they can discover nearby realities that inspire innovative futures for territorial management and ways of living in the big city.”

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to explore the farmhouse, the vineyard, and the winery of Can Calopa, experience natural aromas, taste locally produced oils, and enjoy a tasting of the first white wine made in the city, Vinyes de Barcelona Blanc.

The Barcelona Pedagogical Innovation Council is one of the agents responsible for facilitating unique educational proposals generated by organizations in the city of Barcelona. Currently, it is made up of a community of more than 150 organizations.
