Let’s discover the principles of cooperative projects and their key characteristics.

Grades: upper elementary school. First and second year of secondary school (7th and 8th grade).

Learning objectives:

  1. Solve problems and challenges by cooperatively creating a creative and innovative product through interdisciplinary projects.
  2. Value and advocate for diversity and gender equality by reflecting on ethical issues and demonstrating empathy and respect.

Dynamics:

Students will explore the 7 basic principles of cooperativism through a visit to a project with over 50 years of history and experience in the field of the social and solidarity economy. Working in small groups and through participatory challenges, students will go through five stations designed to help them discover the principles of cooperative projects and their main characteristics. At the end, they will have the opportunity to discuss everything they’ve learned with members of the L’Olivera cooperative.
