The Evooleum Guide 2026 ranks it among the twenty best limited-production oils in the world
As part of the Evooleum Guide 2026, one of the most prestigious guides in the world of olive growing, the L’Olivera Finques oil has been recognized as one of the twenty best oils and the highest-rated arbequina variety in the world. With 94 points, it is the highest-rated Catalan extra virgin olive oil.
It is an honor for L’Olivera to have received this recognition, as we achieved it with a smooth and subtle variety like arbequina, which requires great selection and care in the process. Moreover, we have done so while preserving the essence of the project — listening to the land and working together with people in vulnerable situations,” says Pau Moragas, head of production at L’Olivera. In this regard, during 2024, this oil was also awarded as the best extra virgin olive oil, best organic production oil, and best arbequina monovarietal in Catalonia.
L’Olivera Finques is an organically produced oil made by cold extraction at L’Olivera’s own mill, located in Vallbona de les Monges (Lleida). “Having our own mill has allowed us to select the best olives and maintain control throughout the entire process, from the growth of the fruit to the production of the final product,” says Moragas. In terms of production, it is an oil grown in the Corb Valley from selected estates located between 400 and 600 meters above sea level.
In the culinary realm, it has an intense and aromatic flavor, combining bitter and slightly spicy notes. It is ideal for raw use, pairing well with warm dishes such as toasted bread, vegetable casseroles, or steamed fish.
