Missenyora 2022 also receives a double award: Best Aged White Wine and Best Macabeo Single-Varietal.
The third edition of the Denomination of Origin Costers del Segre awards has recognized L’Olivera with the Sustainability and Environmental Respect Award, acknowledging the work that L’Olivera has been carrying out for many years in the fields of organic farming, regional revitalization, landscape restoration, and social inclusion. In this edition of the awards, organized by the Regulatory Council of the DO Costers del Segre with the support of the Economic Board of the Lleida Provincial Council, the wine Missenyora 2022 has also been recognized with a double award, winning Best Aged White Wine and Best Macabeo Single-Varietal.
During the event, Tomàs Cusiné, president of the DO Costers del Segre, celebrated “the high level of participation of wineries in the competition,” as 140 wines were submitted in this edition, representing 26 wineries from the seven subzones of the denomination of origin. Among the awards, the prize for Best Wine of the DO Costers del Segre went to Tros del Tossal 2021, from Cérvoles winery, a single-plot Syrah produced in La Pobla de Cérvoles, on the northern slope of the Serra de la Llena, within the Tossalets area.
The award ceremony took place in the Sala de la Canonja at La Seu Vella in Lleida, with a large representation of wineries from the denomination of origin in attendance. After the event, they had the opportunity to taste the award-winning wines.
